Ashlee Lewis is a passionate advocate for equity, empowerment, and sustainable leadership within Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and Disability-led (BIPOCD) organizations. With extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, Ashlee offers expertise in Nonprofit Infrastructure Support and Grant Consultation, applying a strong focus on accessibility, cultural responsiveness, and trauma-informed care.
Ashlee’s background includes extensive advocacy work supporting vulnerable community members, including survivors of domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, and elder abuse. She has also worked closely with women of color with disabilities and homeless mothers navigating complex social systems. Her work is grounded in advancing gender equality, racial justice, and disability justice. Her commitment to advancing DEI is deeply rooted in her lived experiences and professional journey.
As the founder of Rising Initiative Consulting, Ashlee partners with BIPOCD nonprofit leaders to foster impactful leadership through inclusive and responsive leadership strategies. Having served as an Executive Director supporting vulnerable communities, Ashlee understands firsthand the challenges that BIPOCD-led and serving organizations face when seeking resources for their communities. Her dedication to mentoring leaders of color inspired her to establish Rising Initiative Consulting, recognizing that nurturing BIPOCD leaders is a powerful catalyst for creating positive, meaningful change within communities.
