CCDC often engages in specific projects as a means to achieve our broad goals.
This page is to identify the various projects we are engaged in:
1) Disability Landscape Analysis: The Colorado Disability Opportunity Office contracted with the Colorado Health Institute to conduct a statewide analysis of the needs, gifts, strengths and serve gaps affecting the disability community. A large survey will be coming out soon. If you want to be notified of how this project is going you can sign up here.
2) Colorado Prepared and Protected: This is an effort to make sure that people with cognitive disabilities who are not on Medicaid based on disability are either properly identified or supported as work reporting requirements are enacted in January. Here is a website about this project! https://www.coloradohealthinstitute.org/research/colorado-prepared-and-protected
3) Graduated Income Tax-CCDC is part of the Protect Colorado Future Campaign and will be spending a lot of the summer collecting signatures to get this on the ballot. By taking this measure to the people we are honoring the spirit and intent of the Taxpayers Bill of Rights. The proposal is that people making under $500,000 a year pay less in taxes, those making over $500,000 pay more. This generates more than $2B in revenues which will help our general fund and stave off even more devastating Medicaid cuts.
4) CCDC is working with a wide group of stakeholders led by Confluence PSG to dive deeply into how we can make our Long-Term Services and Supports Medicaid system can be strengthened for the future. This work is not focused on the current legislative session or any specific program, bill, or budget item, but instead on examining the system as a whole to ensure resources are being used as effectively as possible to sustain this lifesaving and life-affirming system sustainable over the long-term. More information about how to engage will be coming in the near future.
We are hosting listening sessions/community discussions about Medicaid in four areas for Rocky Mountain Health Plans. Events Page
