Colorado’s BHASO Contracts: Key Information for Stakeholders

Colorado’s BHASO Contracts: Key Information for Stakeholders

Denver Skyline at evening.

On July 1, 2025, Colorado launched Behavioral Health Administrative Service Organizations (BHASOs) to coordinate mental health, crisis, and substance use services for people who have no insurance, are underinsured, or are not eligible for Medicaid.

Two organizations now manage these services across four regions: Rocky Mountain Health Plans (Region 1) and Signal Behavioral Health Network (Regions 2, 3, and 4). CCDC is hosting these BHASO contracts on this page below! to ensure they’re accessible to the disability community and key stakeholders.

Why These Contracts Matter

These contracts determine what services you can access, the quality standards providers must meet, your rights as a service recipient, and how accountability is ensured. Understanding these terms helps you navigate the new “single point of entry” system and advocate for appropriate services.

How to Get Involved

Regional Councils – Participate in local input opportunities:

BHA Advisory Council – Join statewide planning efforts: https://bha.colorado.gov/behavioral-health-administration-advisory-council-bhaac

Public Feedback – Submit comments via the BHA feedback form or attend meetings listed on the BHA calendar.
