Dawn Howard, MLS
Community Engagement Coordinator
Dawn has been a part of the CCDC team since January 2015. As the Community Engagement Coordinator for CCDC, Dawn enjoys matching advocates and volunteers with opportunities that enable them to make Colorado’s systems work for people with disabilities. Housing is one of Dawn’s primary focal points in her work. Dawn dreams of the day when all Coloradans with disabilities have housing that is safe, affordable, and accessible, She works every day toward making this dream a reality.
Dawn grew up with slight cerebral palsy. She also “lives bald” with alopecia, refusing to wear an uncomfortable wig. She holds a Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) from Emporia State University and a BS from Colorado State University. She spent over a decade working as a librarian in public libraries in Denver and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In Dawn’s free time, she writes poetry, spends time with her friends and family, and loves to read.
