Ground breaking for the first stage of the 60-unit project will begin next year.

A celebration kick-off event is scheduled for:

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 25th
5 – 7 p.m.
210 S. Cherokee Street, Denver

“This is a remarkable milestone for ACF,” said Lloyd Lewis, ACF board chair and CEO and president of Arc Thrift Stores. “We are thrilled with this news. This will bring to life an opportunity so desperately needed by the disability community in Colorado.”

Julie Reiskin, executive director of the Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition and also chair of Atlantis Community Inc. said that, “this approval changes everything for Atlantis, now it’s time to get started.”

According to organizers, the celebration will offer a chance for the public to see the architectural plans for the new facility and to learn how this project will impact the lives of many Coloradoans with disabilities. “What is particularly exciting and remarkable is that most first-time applications are not approved. The fact that this project was approved so quickly is an indication of how important this project is,” explained Ken Hoagland, developer advisor for the project.

In addition to the Atlantis Housing Foundation board members and Atlantis Community Inc. board members, members of the development team who presented to CHFA, members of the disability community, and Joe Poli of Humphries Poli Architects will be on hand.
