The Disability Rights and Education Fund (DREDF) in California is partnering with the Community Living Policy Center (CLPC) at the University of California, San Francisco to "conduct interviews with a diverse group of personal assistance services (PAS) users to learn more about what they want, if anything, in terms of PAS worker training".

Please feel free to distribute the survey-it is a nationwide effort.

Individuals who are selected to participate in a phone interview will receive a $25 Target gift card.  See the attached for details.

Consumer Interviews about Personal Assistance Worker Skills

University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Community Living Policy Center

Are you a person with a disability or someone who gets help with certain tasks at home, such as dressing, grooming, eating, and toileting?  We are interested in talking to people who use paid personal assistance workers to help with these and other types of daily tasks at home.

Researchers at the UCSF Community Living Policy Center want to ask you about your paid personal assistance worker (examples: attendant, caregiver, home care provider, personal or home care aide, home health aide).

We will be conducting a research study involving interviews to find out more about:

 The role of your personal assistance worker

 How he or she assists you

 The responsibilities and skills your personal assistance worker has or you would like him or her to have

It is our hope that over time this research study will help to inform policy-makers about the role of personal assistance workers in the lives of people with disabilities who wish to receive long-term services and supports in their homes and communities.

Phone interviews will last approximately 30-45 minutes. Participants will receive a $25 Target gift card.
