Advanced Advocacy Training -- DEADLINE FOR ENROLLMENT EXTENDED UNTIL SUNDAY, 9/28 AT 10:00 P.M.
Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition (CCDC) is excited to announce the following Fall 2014 Advanced Advocacy Classes
Classes are scheduled as follows and will be limited to the first 20 applicants per class.
Focus will be on the following topics – (registrants must apply for each class separately)
· Oct 2, 2014 – 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM – MS Society - Disability and the Legal Process - Requesting Reasonable Accommodation (ADA), Guardianship vs Power of Attorney, Estates-Wills-Trusts, the Colorado Open Records Act – Instructors – Andrew Montoya (CCDC) and Amy Robertson – (CREEC) Special Instructor -- Todd Kastetter Esq.
· Oct 30, 2014 – 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM – MS Society - Education, Employment, Housing, Transportation, Technology, Accommodation Requests – Instructors – Donna Sablan (CCDC), Brenda Mosby (CCDC), EEOC, Denver Fair Housing, Jaime Lewis (CCDC), Andrew Montoya (CCDC).

This training provides an advanced education opportunity for community activists or for those looking for additional skills necessary to work in the field of disability services, advocacy, community organizing, the legislative process, or civil rights law.
CCDC Members with a commitment to CCDC Advocacy Team – free of cost
Affiliate/organization cost - $150 per applicant (second applicant from same organization $75)
Certification credit is an additional cost.
Certification Opportunities *
Denver University (DU) Certificate – Advanced Advocacy Training – focus specific. 1 Advanced Class 10 hours (1 CEU)*– or CCDC Certificate of Completion
Advanced Advocacy Training Class – CCDC Certificate of Completion – no cost, DU Certificate of Completion ( 1 Continuing Education Units cost is $25*)
REGISTRATION DEADLINE is – Sept 28, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. (both classes) Each class limited to 20 registrants.
