Lucas v. City and County of Denver, 16-cv-02565-WYD-MJW, consolidated with 16-cv-02931

For years, individuals who use wheelchairs have complained about not being able to get front row seats at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, when the front row and back row are the only two options for wheelchair seating. CREEC, DLA and CCDC joined forces filed a lawsuit against the City for it to make changes to its policies and practices regarding accessible seating tickets at Red Rocks. On December 1, 2016, the coalition of disability rights organizations filed suit against the City alleging violations of the ADA in its seating and ticketing practices at Red Rocks.

CCDC, CREEC, and Disability Law Colorado wrote a letter to the City & County of Denver's City Attorneys' Office on August 26, 2016. We received a letter in response to the letter we sent on September 15, 2016. Those letters are attached below.

We filed suit against Red Rocks on December 01, 2016. The case was consolidated with another case that challenges Red Rocks on a similar matter, 16-cv-02565-WYD-MJW. The parties had their case consolidated on January 13, 2017. On February 10, the City filed its response to Plaintiff's complaint. That response is attached below. On April 28, 2017, the parties filed a Stipulated Motion to Stay Discovery for 90 days to explore a resolution to our claims, that motion is attached below.
