CCDC, et al v. Ficco, et al, Civil Action No.: 09-cv-00889-JKL-KMT (D.C. Colo. 2009)


Retirement apartment community refuses to rent apartments to tenants unless they can prove ability to live “independently.” Management and owners discriminated against rental applicants based on disability and refused to rent them an apartment.

As a result of Defendants' actions, CCDC sent letters to 98 housing communities advertising "independent living" as a condition of rental eligibility.


The complaint was filed on April 17, 2009.

The parties were able to resolve this issue in December, 2009.
